We have known Steve Domotor for over 20 years. Our kids grew up together. Our families still gather in summer around the grill for backyard barbecues, allowing us the opportunity to really know Steve. We are confident that he will do an outstanding job serving on the Town Council as we move forward, embracing what makes Mount Airy special — that small-town feel and the incredible community spirit. Vote for Steve Domotor because he is a proven leader. He served over 10 years in scouting and recently engaged his analytical expertise for our town’s Growth and Development Task Force. Vote for Steve Domotor because of his excellent professional skills — his civil service experience for 34 years — first at the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, then at the U.S. Department of Energy and most recently with the U.S. Department of Transportation. …for the last number of years, I've been involved in many projects in town and served on numerous commissions and boards of directors for service clubs and 501(c)(3)s. The Town Council's decision on the direction of Mount Airy affects many of the projects that I'm involved in. I attend most of the monthly council meetings and closely follow their decisions. I'm impressed with this current Council and appreciate their hard work. The last few years have been very busy and constructive years given the decisions on Mount Airy’s growth and fiscal management. As a Council, they don't always agree on all issues. They have all their own opinions and wishes, as we all have. Individually, they have their own ways of due diligence. That's the way it should be. If they all agreed on all issues, they wouldn't be doing their jobs. Watching the give and take of their meetings makes me feel that they are all dedicated to doing the right things representing Town residents. For this reason, I'm here tonight to endorse Steven Domotor for Town Council. Stephen has not always agreed with others on the Council on a few issues, and Stephen and I don't always agree on all issues either, but we choose to discuss them. But on these issues, he's always tried to represent his constituents as best he can. He's always shown his commitment to the town by his own due diligence on every item including the town's future growth and fiscal responsibility for the taxpayers. Thank you.
